August 23, 2011 - The HVAC system at Yorktown was completed today and brought online. This is bittersweet as I toyed and toiled with installing a geothermal system at Yorktown. In the end, the return on investment for the much more expensive system was too long for me to stomach the added cost. I also didn't like being tied to one fuel source. So instead, we have opted to do a high efficiency heat pump/gas furnace hybrid system. We had a great experience with the install from Appalachian Heating and Cooling. Now this will control the climate of the interior at Yorktown, so that the wood floors can be installed.
